Welcome Home

Greetings and Salutations!

After gratuitous amounts of persuasion by Kimberly (Oh So Smilynn), I've decided to jot down some thoughts on my adventures with Drifter. I've blogged several times with... success? No... I'm just going to say my experience with blogging has been a big ellipsis. I usually quit early like a total boss. Well, not usually - I always quit early like a total boss. Such can be said for my Running Blog, which was supposed to hold me accountable for running. I ran for, what, 3 weeks? It was a good blog at least. It had pictures and music and stuff.

Anyways, here's Drifter.

Hello, my name is Drifter.  I am a dog.

Drifter is a 3-year-old Red Fawn Greyhound. In the nine hours that we've been together, I've realized that he's a lazy bum.  In other words - we're going to be best friends. Thus far today, we have walked a couple times, eaten, and been complete bums. At this rate (because 9 hours is a huge sample size), we're going to grow old and fat together.

I've learned a few other things about Drifter thus far:
  • Drifter's racing name was "Just Drifting." I personally prefer Just Drifting over some of the other great names of Greyhound racing: "Thunder Pants," "More Taxes," "Miss Gorgeous" & "Dutch Bahama."
  • Drifter was not a very good racer.
  • Drifter falls asleep listening to classic rock (Aerosmith is particularly lulling)
  • Drifter can nom down food faster than the speed of light.
  • Drifter is mega curious when taken on walks.
  • Drifter does not know that his name is Drifter.
  • Every bed is Drifter's bed.
  • When Drifter is not asleep, you'd best be petting Drifter or he'll nose you to death.
I'm going to try my best and continue blogging about our time together. Hopefully this will improve my writing skills (aka, ween me off of text-lish, broken email fragments & nerd-webforum-speech).

I hope you'll join me in my many adventures with Just Drifting.
